Thoughts on Portrait Photography
Several decades ago, my friend Victoria Mihich, an outstanding portrait photographer, shot a photo of me with my husband, that to this day is my favorite photo of us. What I like about it is that we both look really good in the photo ... and yet it still looks like us.

She took another photo around the same time that I always say is the one I will point to when I'm really old to show people what I looked like when I was young. I think I look like a 1930s movie star. I love it, but it doesn't really look like me. She captured me in a moment of time, in a photo I will forever treasure ... but it's the photo of me and my husband that I will always remember as the photo that captured us, looking our very best.

That's what I want to do with my photography. I want to create portraits that people will look at for decades, proudly remembering how great they looked and feel that it really looked like them. The motto for my business is "Picture your best self." I want to help you create a picture of your best authentic self ... and capture it for an eternity. (Although I'm happy to take that gorgeous "movie star" photo you can point to as what you "really" looked like!)
