About

Geri-Ann Galanti is a Los Angeles-based portrait photographer whose work transports viewers to another time and place. Exhibited internationally, her images are known for their dramatic lighting, richly layered costumes and props, and a painterly quality that feels both timeless and cinematic.
A Different Path
Geri-Ann arrived at photography by way of an unlikely detour — a doctoral degree in anthropology and years of university teaching. That background shaped her in ways that matter deeply to portrait work: a genuine curiosity about people, and a fluency in the art of human connection.
Photography first entered her life as a fieldwork tool during research in Guatemala, but it wasn't until she retired from academia that it became her true focus. She went on to earn a Certificate in Photography from the renowned photography department at Santa Monica College.
The Work
A lifelong devotee of time travel fiction, Geri-Ann brings that same fascination with other eras to her photography. The result is a body of work that doesn't just document — it conjures. Each image feels like a window into a world just out of reach.
